Chicago Midway Airport is located just 10 miles from downtown Chicago. One of the fastest growing airports in the continent, MDW served over 13 million travelers in 1999. After the recent success of development Midway now has six concourses, serving major airlines such as American, Continental, and Southwest.

Airport Terminals

In 2001, the Chicago Airport System opened the new Midway Airport Terminal Building, which features a two-level terminal roadway system separating arrival and departures, expanded ticketing and baggage claim areas and state-of-the art amenities.

Car Parking

Chicago Midway Airport operates hourly and daily parking in a convenient location between 55th and 59th streets just east of Cicero Avenue . Economy Parking is available at two separate locations, east of Cicero Avenue and also west of Cicero Avenue on 55th Street. There are free shuttles that run from the Economy lots to the Terminal Buildings.

Car Rental

Chicago Midway Airport provides easy access to car rentals, with Alamo Rent A Car, Avis Rent-A-Car, Budget Rent A Car, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz Corporation, National Car Rental and Thrifty located in the Terminal Building.

Ground Transportation

Chicago Midway Airport is served directly by taxi, rail, shared-ride van and bus. Taxi cabs at Chicago Midway Airport are available at all times from door M5. A typical fare to downtown Chicago is $25.

Midway airport is connected to downtown Chicago by the CTA Orange Line. Tickets can be purchased at the Midway Orange Line station, which is conveniently located right across Cicero Avenue near the terminal building. The fee is only $1.50 and the tickets can be purchased at the Midway Orange Line station. The Orange Line makes stops throughout southwest Chicago and travels right into the loop.
