  Chicago River North Arts District

Located to the West of the highrise buildings of North Michigan Avenue and the Near North Side is Chicago's River North district. A warehouse district tidied and renovated in the 1980's, River North houses large numbers of art and antique galleries.

The area is bounded roughly by Clark and Orleans Streets as they stretch north from the Chicago River to Chicago Avenue. At the center, Wells Street remains interesting for several blocks further north, where restaurants, bars and other interesting stores sit amongst the galleries.
