Grove Victorian Village

Covered Bridge, Long Grove
|
First settled in the early nineteenth century by farmers from Alsace-Lorraine,
Long Grove in Lake County is a picturesque village surrounded by
scenic woodland, with a covered bridge at its entrance.
Many of the historic buildings have been lovingly restored and preserved,
creating the feeling of a more leisurely bygone age. The Long Grove
Community Church, with its elegant classical simplicity, was constructed
by German settlers in 1847 and has been in regular use ever since.
Throughout the village there are cobblestone walkways leading to
superb specialty shops selling a vast range of beautifully crafted
goods. The smell of freshly baked bread and fresh brewed coffee
wafts on the air and there are also a number of fine restaurants
with delectable menu items.
Visit the Long Grove, Illinois web
site for further information.
