Chicagoland Speedway
Opened for its inaugural event on June 23rd 2001, the Chicagoland Speedway is a one and a half mile (two and a half kilometer) tri-oval 'D'-shaped racetrack, where vehicles reach speeds of almost 220 miles (350 kilometers) per hour and hit turns with two and three abreast.

Full of action-packed thrills, the track extends over 923 acres (374 hectares) in Joliet, 30 miles (48 kilometers) southwest of downtown Chicago on historic Route 66 and cost a staggering 130 million USD to build.

The grandstand, which is over fifteen stories high and 2480 feet (756 meters) long, has a seating capacity for over 75,000 spectators and there are parking facilities for over 70,000 vehicles.

For information on forthcoming events, visit Chicagoland Speedway web site.
