  Chicago Historical Society, Chicago

Chicago Historical Society
The Chicago Historical Society located at the south end of Lincoln Park in Chicago is one of the leading urban history museums in the nation. The society collects and presents on a wide range of subjects that reflect Chicago's rich multi-cultural history.

Throughout the year the permanent exhibits are joined by special events, for example in 2002 the social and political movements of the Jazz Years are investigated from a female perspective in "Fashion, Flappers 'n All That Jazz".

Other exhibits include; Art on the Street, with works dating from 1893 to the recently popular Cows on Parade, and Neighborhood Voices that uses voice recordings to offer a history of the Chicago Loop in the last half of the 20th century.

Visit the Chicago Historical Society official web site for more information.
